MediaTek Helio P22 SoC full details
Recently, MediaTek has launched the MediaTek Helio P22 processor. Today, I am going to tell you about this processor. MediaTek uses the TSMC 12nm FinFET production process. The MediaTek Helio P22 is a (64-bit) Octa-core processor, the max CPU frequency is 2.0 GHz. It has ARM Cortex-A53 processing units. This is backed by a new IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU running up to a speedy 650MHz. It can support LPDDR3 and LPDDR4x memory controller and it can support up to 6GB RAM. The Helio P22 can support eMMC 5.1 storage.
The MediaTek Helio P22 has 20:9 ratio HD+ (1600 x 720) resolution displays. MediaTek CorePilot technology provides power aware scheduling, thermal management and UX monitoring, assigning the right workload to a number of cores at a specific frequency and voltage; perfectly matching the required performance with best power efficiency. This provides a sustained high-performance and consistently reliable user-experience.
The MediaTek Helio P22 allows up to a 13+8MP dual camera system that’s backed by a new hardware depth engine. This enables a dual-camera smartphone that can capture Depth of Field (Bokeh) effects in stunning photos. A single camera mode of up to 21MP with simulated bokeh effects is supported also. MediaTek’s Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) has been upgraded with a new Rolling Shutter Compensation (RSC) engine. The company said, MediaTek P22 chipset will give you low-light performance, MediaTek’s Instant Auto Exposure (AE): anti-over exposure hardware with accurate point focusing. The Instant AE is powered by a hardware Camera Control Unit (CCU) that delivers considerably faster focusing exposure adjustment when environmental lighting conditions change suddenly. This processor can supports 1080p@30fps.
The Helio P22 SoC comes with AI-enhancements such as Face ID (Face Unlock), Smart Photo Album, and Single-Cam/Dual-Cam Bokeh bring new experiences to mainstream smartphones. With MediaTek NeuroPilot support. In terms of connectivity, the Helio P22 SoC can support Dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, Beidou, Galileo, Glonass, GPS and FM radio.
