MediaTek Helio A22 SoC full details
Recently, Xiaomi has launched it's two new budget smartphone, these two smartphones are powered by a MediaTek Helio A22 SoC. MediaTek has detailed the specifications of the SoC. I think MediaTek is doing great job these days. Recently, MediaTek launched the Helio P60 and Helio P22 SoCs in the market. Especially the Helio P60 got huge amount of success.
The MediaTek Helio A22 SoC based on 12nm TSMC FinFET technology. MediaTek Helio A22 pairs four ARM Cortex-A53's operating up to a super-fast 2.0GHz with an IMG PowerVR GE-class GPU. It can support LPDDR4x and LPDDR3 memory consumption, and it can support up to 6GB RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage type. The company says that CPU performance is up to 30% faster and GPU up to an incredible 72% faster than the direct alternative.
The MediaTek Helio A22 SoC is capable of Dual 4G VoLTE. It focuses on a highly power-efficient design capable of Cat-7 (DL) 4G LTE speeds, while MediaTek’s TAS 2.0 smart antenna technology uses the best antenna combination to provide optimal signal quality at lowest power use. For the North American market, the latest 600MHz band is also supported.
MediaTek Helio A22 can support 20:9 ratio HD+ (1600 x 720) resolution displays. This SoC has AI capabilities, AI will work on Face ID (Face Unlock), Smart Photo Album and advanced single or dual-camera Bokeh effects to photography.
The MediaTeK A22 SoC allows up to 13+8MP dual camera system with twin ISP can capture professional-grade photos with Depth of Field (Bokeh) effects, while a single camera mode of up to 21MP also supports Bokeh through help from its clever AI ability. It can support 1080p@30fps video encoding.
In terms of connectivity, the Helio P22 SoC can support Dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, Beidou, Galileo, Glonass, GPS and FM radio.
