Huawei MatePad Pro with 10.8-inchWQXGA Display, Kirin 990 SoC, Android 10 OS launched


  Huawei has launched the MatePad Pro, the company’s latest top-end tablet in China. It sports a 10.8-inch (2560 x 1600) WQXGA 2.5D curved glass display with 16:10 aspect ratio. It also comes with the smart magnetic keyboard weighs 260 grams, has 1.3mm keystrokes and you can open the keyboard to wake up the tablet and close the keyboard and turn it into a screen protector.


  The MatePad Pro does support HUAWEI M-Pencil 12, it will be helpful for painting, document processing, class notes, and more with 4096-level pressure sense and 20ms ultra-low latency. M-Pencil is  attached to the top of the tablet with active magnetic pairing, and simultaneous wireless charging.

  The MatePad Pro is powered by the 2.86 GHz HUAWEI Kirin 990 processor with ARM Mali-G76MP16 GPU, Big Core + Tiny Core NPUs(Neural-network Processing Unit). It packs 6GB LPDDR4x RAM with 128GB storage / 8GB LPDDR4x RAM with 256GB / 512GB, expandable memory up to 256GB with NM card. It runs EMUI 10.0.1 based on Android 10 OS.


  The MatePad Pro has a 13MP auto focus rear camera with PDAF, f/1.8 aperture and LED flash. It comes with a 8MP front-facing Camera with f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera can record up to 4K resolution video, while the front-facing camera supports only Full HD video recording.

  It features Harman Kardon-certified Quad speakers with Huawei Histen sound effect. It has 4G LTE (Optional), Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.1 LE, GPS connectivity. It comes with a USB Type-C port and 3.5mm audio jack. It houses a 7,250mAh battery, with support for fast charging up to 40W. The MatePad Pro is also capable of charging wirelessly up to 15W and can do reverse wireless charging up to 7.5W.

Price and Availability

  The HUAWEI MediaPad Pro is priced at 3299 yuan (US$ 469 / Rs. 33,640 approx.) for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version, 3999 yuan (US$ 568 / Rs. 40,770 approx.) for the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage version, 6GB RAM with 128GB storage LTE version costs 3799 yuan (US$ 540 / Rs. 38,740 approx.) and the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage LTE version costs 4499 yuan (US$ 639 / Rs. 45,870 approx.). Now it is available for pre-order and will be available from December 12. The company said that the 5G version will arrive in Q1 2020, but no details about its price.
