Google Pixel 3 XL with Snapdragon 845 SoC, Android 9 Pie OS, dual front-facing camera launched



  Google has announced the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones. These two smartphones are powered by the Snapdragon 845 SoC, runs on Android 9 Pie OS. The pixel 3 smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch FHD+ OLED 19:9 display, while the Pixel 3 XL packs a 6.3-inch FHD+ OLED 19:9 display. These also have IP68 ratings for water and dust resistance. Suprisingly both smartphones comes with dual front-facing cameras.


Google Pixel 3 XL specifications


  The Google Pixel 3 XL packs a 6.3-inch (1080 x 2160 pixels) FHD+ OLED 19:9 display, 443 PPI, HDR support, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It has iconic two-tone design, an aluminum frame with hybrid coating, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the back. It has a single physical nano sim card slot and it can support eSIM. Looks like Google is following Apple. It is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.

  The Pixel 3 XL is powered by the Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform with Adreno 630 GPU. It has 4GB RAM with 64GB / 128GB internal storage, there is no option for expanding storage. It runs on Android 9 Pie OS. Google put in lots of AI features in this smartphone. Like Google Pixel 2 series smartphones it also has Active Edge feature.

  The Pixel 3 XL comes with a single rear camera like Pixel and Pixel 2 series smartphones. It has a 12.2MP rear camera with 1.4μm pixel size, Æ’/1.8 aperture, 76° FOV, Dual PD auto focus, OIS, EIS and LED flash. It can record 4K videos at up to 30 fps, 720p at up to 240 fps, Spectral + flicker sensor. Unlike previous pixel smartphones the new Pixel 3 comes with dual front-facing camera. It has 8MP auto focus front-facing camera (f/1.8 aperture, 75° FOV) along with secondary 8MP fixed focus camera (f/2.2 aperture aperture, 97° FOV). It can record 1080p videos at up to 30fps.

  The Pixel 3 XL has a fingerprint sensor on the back. It has 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac 2x2MIMO (2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS and NFC connectivity. It has a USB Type-C Gen 1 port, but there is no 3.5mm audio jack. It packs a 3430mAh non-removable battery, it can support fast charging and wireless charging. You will get fast charger in the box.

  The Google Pixel 3 XL is priced at $899 (Rs. 66,580 approx.) and $999 (Rs. 73,990 approx.) for 64GB and 128GB versions in U.S.

Price in India

   The Google Pixel 3 XL 64GB Internal storage version is priced at Rs. 83,000 and the High-end Pixel 3 128GB internal storage version will cost you Rs. 92,000 in India. It will be available for pre-order from 11th October 2018 on Flipkart, Airtel’s online store, and at offline partners including Reliance Digital, Croma and other leading stores across India, and it will go on sale from 1st November 2018.
