Asus Zenfone 6 with Dual flip camera, Snapdragon 855 SoC, 5000mAh battery launched

  Asus has launched the Zenfone 6 smartphone at an event in Spain. It sports a 6.46-inch (1080 × 2340 pixels) Full HD+ NanoEdge IPS LCD Display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 600 nits brightness. Most importantly it does support HDR10, and it has Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. It comes with Glass back and aluminium frame, the glass back panel has Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It comes dedicated dual nano sim card and a dedicated microSD card slot. It has got a a dedicated smart key that is customizable, so you can use it for deferent features.


  The Zenfone 6 is powered by the Octa-Core Snapdragon 855 7nm Mobile Platform (1 x 2.84GHz Kryo 485 + 3 x 2.42GHz Kryo 485 + 4x 1.80GHz Kryo 485) with Adreno 640 GPU. It packs 6GB LPDDR4X RAM with 64GB (UFS 2.1) storage, 8GB LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB / 256GB (UFS 2.1) storage, you can expand storage up to 1TB with microSD card via dedicated microSD card slot. It runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) with ZenUI 6.


  The most important thing about this smartphone is its rotating camera. It has a 48MP primary camera with Dual LED Flash, f/1.79 aperture, 1/2″ Sony IMX586 sensor, 0.8μm pixel size, Laser AF, EIS, and a 13MP secondary camera with 125-degree ultra-wide lens, f/2.4 aperture. The dual camera setup can record videos at up to 4K@60fps and it also supports 480fps slow-motion video recording at 720p. The flip mechanism can be used in a 90-degree position. The Company said that the flip-up camera system is made from Liquid Metal is lighter than stainless steel and is 4x stronger. The Company has also added some security features to the smartphone. The camera will close automatically if you drop the phone, and the company at the launch said that it has tested it with up to 100,000 flips.


  The Asus Zenfone 6 features a rear-mounted Fingerprint sensor. It has Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS and NFC connectivity. It has a USB Type-C port and 3.5mm audio jack. It has got 5-magnet stereo speaker, Dual NXP TFA9874 smartamp and dual microphones. It houses a 5000mAh battery and it supports 18W Qualcomm Quick charge 4.0 fast charging.

  The Asus Zenfone 6 is priced at 499 Euros (US$ 557 / Rs. 39,132 approx.) for the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage version, 559 Euros (US$ 624 / Rs. 43,800 approx.) for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version and the high-end 8GB RAM with 256GB storage version costs 599 Euros (US$ 669 / Rs. 46,970 approx.). It is available for order in several countries in Europe and will start shipping from May 25th.
