Samsung Galaxy XCover announced

  Samsung has announced the Galaxy XCover FieldPro rugged smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy XCover sports a 5.1-inch QHD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. As it a rugged smartphone, it is MIL-STD-810G and IP68 certified and the company said that it can survive drops, shocks and vibrations to extreme temperatures, rain, blowing dust and even a half-hour in five-foot-deep water.


  The Galaxy XCover comes with a dedicated physical push-to-talk and emergency request buttons that are programmable to send location data or alerts and can be activated whether wearing gloves or in adverse weather conditions. The device is also Band 14- enabled for dedicated emergency response communications.

  The Galaxy XCover is powered by the 2.7GHz/1.7GHz Octa-core Samsung Exynos 9810 processor. It packs 4GB RAM with 16GB internal memory, expandable memory up to 512GB with microSD card. It runs on Android 8 Oreo OS. The company promised to provide 3 years of security patch updates. It also features the Samsung Knox security platform and is also certified for use by the federal government, based on standards set by the National Information Assurance Partnership.

  The Galaxy XCover features a 12MP auto-focus rear camera with dual aperture. It comes with a 8MP front-facing camera. It comes with a fingerprint sensor. It has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz+5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / GLONASS, NFC connectivity. It has a USB 2.0 Type C, 3.5pi Audio jack and a Pogo Pin. It houses a 4,500mAh (user-replaceable) battery.
