LG G8 ThinQ with Snapdragon 855 SoC, Android 9 Pie OS, triple rear camera setup announced



  LG has introduced the LG G8 ThinQ smartphone at MWC event as it had promised. It sports a 6.1-inch (3120 x 1440 pixels) 19.5:9 FullVision OLED Display. It is IP68 rated for dust and water resistance, meets MIL-STD 810G requirements. LG brings the Hand ID feature to this smartphone, Hand ID identifies owners by recognizing the shape, thickness and other individual characteristics of the veins in the palms of their hands to unlock the phone.

   The LG G8 ThinQ is powered by the Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 7nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 640 GPU. It packs 6GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB (UFS 2.1) storage, you can expand memory up to 2TB with microSD card. It runs on Android Android 9.0 Pie OS.

  LG G8 ThinQ comes with triple rear camera setup, there is also a dual rear camera version of the G8 ThinQ for some regions that cuts out the telephoto lens. It has a 12MP primary rear camera with f/1.5 aperture, 1.4µm pixel size, 78° lens, 16MP super wide camera with f/1.9 aperture, 1.0µm pixel size, 107° lens, and it has a 12MP telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture, 1.0µm pixel size, 45° lens and LED flash. It comes with a 8MP front camera with f/1.7 aperture, 1.22μm pixel size, 80° lens and it has a 3D ToF sensor. It can support 3D face unlock.

  The LG G8 ThinQ comes with rear mounted fingerprint sensor. It has 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS, NFC East. It has USB Type-C 2.0 (3.1 compatible) port and 3.5mm audio jack. It comes with Boombox Speaker with stereo output. It has 32-bit Advanced Hi-Fi Quad DAC and supports DTS: X 3D Surround Sound. The LG G8 ThinQ packs a 3500mAh battery and it supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.
