Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 vs Redmi 5 comparison
Yesterday, Xiaomi has launched it's budget smartphone Redmi 5 in India. This smartphone has 18:9 display like Redmi note 5 and Redmi note 5 pro. Redmi note 5 smartphone price starting from ₹7,999 in India, while Redmi note 5 smartphone price starting from ₹ 9,999. In this Article I am going to compare this smartphone with Redmi note 5.
Design:
In terms of design both Redmi note 5 and Redmi 5 looks identical. Both smartphones comes with metal body.
Display:
Both Redmi note 5 and Redmi 5 smartphones comes with 18:9 display, Redmi note 5 has 5.99-inch 18:9 full HD+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection, While Redmi 5 comes with 5.7-inch 18:9 HD+ display, and Xiaomi didn't given any information about display protection.
SIM card slot:
Both Xiaomi Redmi note 5 and Redmi 5 comes with Hybrid dual sim card slot. These two smartphones can support 4G VoLTE connectivity.
Processor:
Xiaomi Redmi note 5 is powered by 1.8GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 636 14nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 509 GPU. Snapdragon 636 can handle heavy games without any issues, it will give you best performance.
Redmi 5 is powered by 1.8GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 450 14nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 509 GPU.
I think Redmi 5 can handle heavy games and multi tasking without any issues. Snapdragon 450 will consume low power, so it will give you good battery life.
RAM and storage:
Redmi Note 5 - It has 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage / 4GB RAM with 64GB Internal storage, and you can expand memory with microSD card via Hybrid slot.
Redmi 5 - It has 2GB RAM with 16GB storage / 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage / 4GB RAM with 64GB Internal storage, and you can expand memory with microSD card via Hybrid slot.
OS:
Both Redmi note 5 and Redmi 5 smartphones running on Android 7 Nougat OS with MIUI 9 out of the box.
Camera:
Redmi Note 5 - has 12MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, 1.25μm large pixel, PDAF, HDR and dual-tone LED flash. It has 5MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. Front-facing camera can record 1080p video @30fps.

I just don't want to say anything about Redmi 5 smartphone's camera, it is to early to say. Redmi Note 5 has really good rear camera, with rear camera you can record 4k videos.

Xiaomi Redmi note 5 has 4000mAh non-removable Battery, it will give you really good battery life. Redmi Note 5 can support Qualcomm quick charge 2.0. Redmi 5 smartphone comes with 3300mAh non-removable Battery, I think it will give 1 day battery life. Redmi 5 comes with HD+ display, so Display is not going to consume lot of power like Full HD+ display.
