ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE, ROG Strix SCAR 17 and ROG Flow X13 laptops announced at CES 2021

  ASUS has announced ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE, ROG Strix SCAR 17 and ROG Flow X13 laptops at CES 2021 vertical event, these laptops are powered by AMD Ryzen 5000 series processor. The company also announced the XG Mobile external GPU with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Graphics card.

ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE features

  The Zephyrus Duo 15 SE is a dual-screen laptop, it packs a 15.6-inch main display which can be configured with either a 4K UHD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time and 100% Adobe RGB color gamut coverage or a full-HD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time and 100% sRGB color gamut.

  It also comes with a 14.1-inch secondary touchscreen display that lifts up when you raise the lid on the laptop. It can be used to chat over instant messaging apps, or to stream or record gameplay, and underneath the second display is the upgraded Active Aerodynamic System Plus (AAS+) cooling system that is used to cool the powerful internals.

The laptop is powered by the AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX mobile CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 GPU inside. It can be configured 16GB of DDR4 3200MHz memory onboard plus one open SODIMM slot for up to 16GB additional memory, you can choose between 512GB or 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD storage options with RAID 0 support. It also runs Windows 10 OS out of the box.

  The ROG Strix SCAR 17 is another powerful gaming laptop from ASUS, the laptop is available in 15.6- and 17.3-inch sizes and can be configured either a 360Hz FHD panel or 165Hz WQHD panel with 3ms response time. It has got an optical mechanical keyboard, a laser etching treatment on the lid resulting in different texture layers, customisable "ammo cap" hinge covers, and a translucent fibre glass material on the keyboard deck.

  The laptop can be configured up to AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX mobile CPU and up to a GeForce RTX 3080 GPU. It supports Up to 64GB dual-channel DDR4 3,200MHz SDRAM memory and TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (RAID 0) storage. It also runs on Windows 10 OS out of the box.

  The laptop houses 90Wh battery, which ASUS claims will give up to 12 hours of video playback and it supports fast charging via USB-C at up to 100W.

  The ROG Flow X13 is a ultra-portable laptop with a flip design that features 120Hz 13.4” PANTONE Validated IPS-Type WUXGA (1920 x 1200) 16:10 touchscreen display, it also supports Asus Stylus. It has got Backlit Precision Gaming Keyboard.

  It can be configured up to an AMD Ryzen 9 5980HS mobile CPU and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPU. Most importantly, it has got ROG Intelligent Cooling system with self-cleaning anti-dust tunnels. It supports 16GB LPDDR4X RAM and 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD storage. It has got 720p webcam. It runs on Windows 10 OS out of the box. The laptop has got Gig+ Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5 connectivity. It supports USB Type-C Charging.

ASUS XG mobile external GPU

  The XG mobile external GPU makes this laptop unique, the external GPU connects via a proprietary eGPU connector, which has a bandwidth of 63 Gbps. This results in significantly higher performance when compared to a traditional Thunderbolt eGPUs. The XG Mobile also has a dedicated USB 3.2 Gen 2 link to enable extra I/O connectivity.

  ASUS didn't received  the price of these laptops nor have they revealed the date of availability.
