Samsung Galaxy A Quantum launched, price and full specifications


  Samsung has launched the Galaxy A Quantum in South Korea. The company claims the Galaxy A Quantom is a world’s first 5G smartphone with quantum random number generation (QRNG) chipset. It has got smallest (2.5 × 2.5 mm) quantum random number generator (QRNG) chipset S2Q000, it was developed by SK Telecom’s Switzerland-based subsidiary ID Quantique. It helps smartphone users safely use services such as SK Pay, T ID login, and Initial by generating unpredictable and patternless pure random numbers based on quantum crypto technology. The company claims that it will creates strong keys that are not biased and cannot be predicted. Inside the chipset, a CMOS image sensor detects the light (photons) emitted by the LED light source.

  SK Telecom said that they are planning to expand the quantum security to more services in the future. The company also planning to share open APIs on SK Open API website and support technology development for developers. In addition, the company said that they will expand quantum security-based services and create new business opportunities in various areas such as 5G network, IoT, autonomous driving, and cloud.


  The Galaxy A Quantum sports a 6.7" FHD+ AMOLED display with 32MP punch hole selfie camera, and it features 64MP quad rear camera setup. It is powered by the Exynos 980 SoC and runs on Android 10 OS out of the box. It houses a big 4500mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging.

  The Galaxy A Quantum is priced at 649,000 won (US$527 / Rs. 39,860 approx.) in South Korea. It will go on sale in South Korea through SK Telecom, now it is available for pre-order and will go on sale from May 22nd.
